Materials and Construction:

These lures are made from a two-component plastic with added micro balloons and high-carbon steel. The metal frame passes through the entire lure, guaranteeing it withstands a load of up to 10 kg (22 lb).

All bug lures have legs and antennas made of knitted rubber with a fabric coating that provides high flexibility and resistance to damage. They look very natural underwater, adding extra allure to this Microbait Beetle.

This is top-quality handmade bait, and it has several important and time-consuming processes during production.

After moulding, cleaning, and attaching the legs, the lure undergoes a multi-stage painting process using acrylic paints, followed by two layers of clear waterproof lacquer. After 24 hours of drying, we attach hooks, and the lure goes for field testing.

We check the weight, buoyancy and how the fishing bait reacts on moderately fast and slow retrieve in the water.

Please keep in mind that since these are handmade baits, the weight may differ slightly from what is stated and is usually no more than 0.3g difference.

Crankbait Retrieval Techniques:

Choosing the right spinning rod length is crucial to unleashing the potential of our bug fishing lures. A 2-2.4 meter rod is preferable for boat fishing, while 2.7-3 meters suits shore fishing.

Reels can be either baitcasting or spinning, wound with braided line. A segment of monofilament or fluorocarbon leader (30-70 cm) is attached to the line using a "carrot" knot.

Method #1

On the rivers and especially under the trees, this is where our beetle fishing lures reveal their 100% potential.

Usually, it's best to cast upstream or upstream and across, letting floating beetle lure back down towards you. This imitates small bugs that float on the water's surface, and you will have a lot of fun as you get a clear view of your lure. When cast under tree branches, usually on the opposite side of a small river, 90% of Trout bites occur at the moment of the splash when the bug hits the water.

Method #2

Slowly retrieve to imitate a bug that fell on the water's surface and could not escape. This is the most straightforward and popular retrieve technique among beginners, and it always works well in lakes, rivers, and even salt water. 

Method #3

Reel 0,5-1 m (2-4 ft), let crank rise and float for 3-4 sec, repeat. It's enough if the crank will sink only 0,1 m (0.3 ft).

Method #4 

"Stop and Go," is characterised by a jerky crankbait movement with pauses of varying duration. It is a free-stile combination of all three previous methods. Trout and Steelhead

Fishing with Bombarda:

The Bombarda fishing method originated in Italy for catching trout in clear lake water using small artificial lures.

Today, it's widely used for various predators like Bass, Salmon, Trout, Steelhead and Perch. This method has expanded from lakes to large and small rivers.

The Bombarda, a weighted float without an antenna, aids in casting light lures far and maintaining them at a specific depth.

Bombardas vary in weight, colour, and buoyancy (floating, neutral, or sinking).

With our ultra-light bug lures, we recommend using floating or slow-sinking bombards.

You can select their weight yourself based on the test of your rod so that you feel comfortable casting your bait.

Tackle for Trout Fishing with Bombarda:

A specialised rod resembling a telescopic with rings is designed for Bombarda fishing. It differs with a soft tip for transmitting movement during bites.

An ultralight spinning rod can be used for shorter casts and skilled anglers comfortable with long leaders.

A nylon line with a fluorocarbon leader is recommended. The thickness chosen is based on fishing conditions.
